Sea Fresh has its own tuna fish plant located in Sri Lanka, which enables it to have control over the entire chain. Wherever possible, Sea Fresh purchases its tuna fish from local fishing boats that are only out at sea for a short period of time.

Sea Fresh tuna fish produced in Sri Lanka is able to bear the ‘Friend of the Sea’ label. Tuna fish that possesses this label is expected to comply with certain requirements and in this way every tuna fish that is caught and delivered to our factory can be fully traced back to its origins. Every aspect is documented, managed and controlled, including aspects such as the harbour in which the fish arrived, information regarding the fishing boat, licences, information relating to fishing methods, and much more. Tuna fish may only be purchased if it has been caught on fishing boats that possess official permits; these boats are also required to be registered with the official Sri Lankan fishing authority.
